- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Good character, integrity, and self control
- Maintain enthusiasm, energy, positive attitude and appearance and interact with campers at all times
- 18 years of age
Reports to:
Program Director and/or Executive Director
Position Purpose:
To plan, direct and supervise camp’s environmental education program
Specific Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe environment for campers and staff
- Set up nature museum and outdoor skills area prior to and during staff training
- Teach staff their responsibilities in activity during staff training
- Teach and monitor proper use of equipment
- Create activity plans that will coincide with the education of nature and environmental concerns for the campers
- Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials
- Conduct initial and end of season inventory and store equipment for safety.
- Assist in packing all materials and supplies at end of season
- Evaluate current season and make recommendations for equipment, supplies and program for following season
- Work with Program Directors on schedules and planning special programs on a weekly basis
- Write weekly Nature News for camp newspaper and turn into Office by end of day on Wednesday
