May 2009: The Doctor Visits (Veterinarian)
Spring is the time when all the animals at Whippoorwill Farm have their spring checkup and shots. The vet has to make a house call, as Milo does not like to travel.
How do you give a pig his shots, trim his toes, nails, and saw his tusks? This year, the vet brought two assistants: one to hold Milo's back legs and the other to hold his front legs. The vet sat on Milo to give him his shots and take care of his nails. All this time, Milo was giving ear-piercing squeals that could be heard in Nashville!
Buddy, the goat, looked horrified and headed for Pig Palace, where he peeked around the corner hoping Milo was going to live!
When it was Buddy's turn to see the veterinarian, he enjoyed getting attention - even if it was getting a shot or having his toes trimmed!
As for the rabbits . . . they are always glad when their turn is over (as are the cats and Lily the dog).
Once the veterinarian left, Whippoorwill Farm was again the peaceable kingdom!
