June 2009: Making Friends
The new camp season is full of activities and campers making new friends. It is easy for campers to make new friends, but very hard for Miss Duck.
Our six ducks that arrived as babies in April are almost grown and Miss Duck would like to be their friend. She flew into Bunny Village to introduce herself, and was met with pecking and made to stay alone, away from the others.
She stayed in a corner hoping they would maybe become friendlier. Campers remarked that the new ducks were being bullies!
Miss Duck decided to leave for a few days, and we were worried about her. She came back after five days and again tried to make friends with Bunny Village ducks. Again, they did not like her!
Lily, the dog, stayed by Bunny Village and wanted to help Miss Duck. Finally, Miss Duck has decided to go back to her old friend, Lily the dog. They sleep together and hang out together.
Lily, the dog, is a true friend - and true friends are best!
